La Gloire model - French 34-gun frigate - wooden ship model kit
Mamoli - no. MV34 - scale 1:90
A classic frigate belonging to the French Navy at the end of the 18th century, equipped with 26 12-pounder guns on the battery deck, in addition to 4 6-pounder guns and 4 carronades on the main deck. La Gloire was designed by shipbuilding engineer Guignace and was built in St. Malo in 1778. This model is a 1:90 scale reproduction from the first year of sailing, with a white-painted bottom. A year later, in June 1779, as with many other ships, the submerged part of the hull was covered with copper plates to protect it from corrosion.
