The Mercedes-Benz W136 (170V) is a German mid-size car from the 1930s. It debuted in 1936 at the Berlin Motor Show. Production took place from 1935–1943 and 1946–1955, with approximately 75,000 units built during the first period. The W136 replaced the Mercedes-Benz 170 and was known for its simplicity, reliability, and popularity. During World War II, these vehicles served as staff cars; production resumed after the war, with diesel engines introduced in 1949. Manufacturing concluded in 1955, with a total of nearly 140,000 units produced.
