Sao Miguel model - Caracca Atlantica - wooden ship model kit
Mamoli - no. MV21 - scale 1:54
The magnificent ship Sao Miguel - Caracca Atlantica.
Documents found in the historical archives of the Maritime Museum in Barcelona allowed for the reconstruction of the ship's plans, which, due to its lines, stands between a medieval merchant ship and a galleon, classified as a bow-and-deck vessel between carracks. We named it Atlantic Carrack to indicate a ship suitable for ocean sailing. It is likely that around 1519 it took part in the important expedition that led Fernando Cortez to conquer Mexico. The external galleries, one of which is a balcony, the cabins under the small deck, and the superstructures of the decks, providing awnings for protection from the sun, clearly indicate that these ships were used to transport high-ranking passengers.
