Catalina model - Dutch Pleasure Yacht - wooden ship model kit
Mamoli - no. MV51 - scale 1:35
The first Lemster barges were built in 1876 at the Gebr. De Boer shipyard in Lemmer, Friesland. The Catalina was originally a fishing vessel for use in the northern part of the still open Zuiderzee, where silt often entered the bay during strong winds. Therefore, the ship was designed to be very seaworthy and have very good sailing capabilities. These characteristics and her smooth lines made her one of the best and most beautiful Dutch sailing yachts.
