Britannia model - British Regatta Yacht - wooden ship model kit
Mamoli - no. MV44 - scale 1:64
The Britannia yacht, designed by G.L. Watson, was built to order for Edward VII, Prince of Wales at the time. It is considered by the English to be the most important and representative racing yacht of its time. It is difficult to imagine a design that would make its lines seem old-fashioned.
It is the kind of hull whose beauty is apparent at first glance. The quality of its construction has stood the test of time. On the contrary, the rigging has undergone all the modifications suggested by science and yachting fashion. Britannia holds a unique record of victories.
